Limonite ore introduction

Limonite is relatively dense with a specific gravity varying from 2.7 to 4.3. The hardness is variable, but generally in the 4 - 5.5 range.Limonite is an ore occurring in a mixture of hydrated iron oxide-hydroxide of varying composition. Limonite mining process

Limonite raw ore need to be crushed and grinded to be sized into required dimensionwhich will be used in producing. Themiddling is mixed with rough middling for thickening process, while the rest ones are discharged as tailings.After first thickening, low iron content limonite ore is moved to ball mill for further grinding. In second thickening,ores will be conducted for further upgrading. The product with iron content lower than 40.08% returns to scavenging, and the one higher than 49.04% passes to reverse flotation.Reverse flotation includes rough flotation and clean flotation, through which Limonite iron ore would be greatly upgraded. The iron concentrate obtained is of 56.73% in content. The middling willreturn to magnetic flotation to be a close-circle process.
