The process of extracting tin from tin ore varies according to the source of the ore deposit and the amount of impurities found in the ore.Tin deposits in Indonesia are located in the gravel along streambeds and require the use of dredges or pumps to reach the ore. The ore in these deposits may contain as little as 0.015% tin by weight.
In tin ore processing operation, after extracted from mine, the raw tin ore mateirals will be delivered to a threestage crushing plant and reduced to about 12 mm followed by ball mill grinding to liberate the cassiterite (tin oxide) from the gangue, sulphideflotation to remove pyrite and any other sulphides, then concentration of the tin by a combination of hydraulic classification, gravity separation plant and fine tin flotation to produce concentrates acceptable to tin smelters.
Tin ore crushing is the first stage in tin ore processing operation;generally there are three crushing stage for tin ore size reduction, including primary crushing, secondary crushing and tertiary crushing. Between each crushing steps, there will be vibrating screen to separate different particle size, and belt conveyor to convey the materials to next stage. As for the specific projects, there will be customized crushing production line according to the ore deposit and properties.
