How to extend the life of the cone crusher? State Industries pointed out that the cone-type crusher parts of its own selection and structural design is reasonable, so its service life is relatively long. However, in practice, due to the operation of some technical staff is not standardized, thereby reducing the life of the cone crusher. Here, the industry briefly introduces some considerations in the operation of the cone crusher:

First, most mining companies use cone crushers in ore dressing operations. The raw ore is fed directly from the top onto the distributor plate inside the cone crusher. The distributor plate wears out quickly (needs replacement in about three months). If not replaced in time, the 8 M30 bolts fixing the distributor plate will be smashed by the ore, causing the plate to fall off. This will lead to jamming between the mantle and concave, or even burn out the motor, forcing the crusher to shut down and affecting production. Therefore, the distributor plate must be replaced regularly.

Second, to extend the service life of the cone crusher, a ring with an outer diameter of φ300 made of 16 mm round steel is welded onto the surface of the crusher’s distributor plate in an overlapping cross pattern. During operation, the enclosed area of the ring fills with crushed ore, which cushions the impact on the distributor plate and significantly prolongs its service life.

The above are two industry insights from the perspective of mining operations to prolong the service life of cone crushers. We hope these points will draw the attention of relevant enterprises.
