Properly Choose Bearings

Antifriction bearings are bought-in components for most of the vibrating screen manufacturers and customers. So in the design process of vibrating screen, how to properly choose the types and physical dimensions of bearings is a very important factor to reduce the vibration of bearings in vibrating screen. In order to reduce the vibration of bearings, generally we should adopt bearings with good rigidity and high vibration resistance. And as we know, the radial rigidity of needle bearings is much higher than that of ball bearings. But the geometric accuracy and assembly quality of needle bearings and their components are very sensitive. On the contrary, deep groove ball bearings have poor rigidity and are not sensitive to assembly quality. So from the perspective of reducing bearing vibration, deep groove ball bearings are more suitable. But for fulcrum bearings with high rigidity requirements, such as large-scale vibrating screens, we should adopt tapered roller bearings. For vibrating screen with large load, serious impact and oscillating load, we can adopt spherical roller bearings.

Good Lubrication

Good lubrication also means a lot for the reduction of bearing vibration in vibrating screen. Good lubrication of bearings can improve the frictional behavior of rolling elements, raceway, and retainer. But we should control the added volume of lubricating grease or lubricating oil and adopt proper lubricating method. Too much lubricating oil will cause the agitation of lubricating oil in bearings when the bearings rotate with high speed, inducing contact resonance.

Determine The Coordination Between Bearings And Related Spare Parts Properly

The coordination of outer ring in the bearing hole directly affects the vibration of bearings in vibrating screen. If the fit is too tight, it will not only directly increase vibration transmission, but also force the raceway to deform and affect the form error of the raceway. In this case, the radial internal clearance will decrease, leading to increased vibration. So the coordination of outer ring and bearing hole should properly loosen.

Proper fit can make the oil film at the contact between the bearing and the bearing hole produce damping to the vibration of the outer ring. But too loose outer ring coordination will also cause the vibration of bearing. The roughness and permissible error of the bearing journal mating with the bearing inner ring shall strictly meet the accuracy requirements. If we do not follow the rules and install the antifriction bearing on the journal too tightly, then even if the bearings have high accuracy, the deviation of the journal will inevitably be transmitted to the inner ring. And in this process, it will also cause strong vibration of bearings. So to reduce this kind of vibration, besides controlling the manufacturing accuracy of bearings, we should also pay attention to the process of journal and the control of magnitude while assembling.

Adopt damping process between the inner and outer ring of bearing. The rolling element of bearing can be made into hollow rolling element or add damping material inside the rolling element can also reduce the vibration of bearings.

Improve The Rigidity Of Bearing Seat

The rigidity of bearing seat has great influence on the vibration of bearings in vibrating screen, so improve the rigidity of bearing seat can reduce the vibration of bearings. When the rotation speed is fixed, the vibration peak value of the bearing decreases with the increase of the wall thickness. So by changing the axial thickness and its shape and increasing the rigidity of bearing seat, we can reduce the vibration of the bearing.
