Introduction about the Structure of Belt Conveyor and Its Application in Concrete Batcher

The conveyor, also named belt conveyor, is the essential and economical logistics transportation equipment of making rhythmic assembly line. The belt conveyor has features of high transportation capacity, long distance transmission, simple structure, easy maintenance, convenient procedural control and automatic operation.

     The belt transports particles or powder, pieces that below 100kg by continuous or intermittent motion with running high-speed, stable, low noise and it can delivery up and down. This equipment is widely applied in home appliances, electronics, electrical appliances, machinery, tobacco, injecting molding, post and telecommunications, printing, food and other industries. Its delivery modes can be chosen according to the processing requirements, a variety of controlling method such as ordinary continuous operation, beats running, variable-speed operation. There are many forms such as straight line, curve, and slope for customers to make choice.

     Although there are various types of belt conveyor, their overall structures of composition are roughly the same. Here we take batching belt conveyor structure for instance to briefly introduce the structure of the belt. The conveyor mainly consists of the belt, the idlers, the cylinders and driving device, the brakes, tensioning device, loading, discharging and the sweeper.

     The first is the conveyor belt. There are two commonly used types—rubber and plastic. The rubber belt is suitable to the working environment temperature between 15℃~40℃ when the temperature of materials being transported above 50℃. It is necessary to inform the manufacturer when ordering and then the heat-resistant belt can be selected. The inclination range of transporting particles scattered upwards is 12°~24°. The apron belt can be used when it is large angle transportation. The plastic belt with advantages of oil proof, acid-resisting, alkali-resistant is easy to slip and be aging owing to the bad adaptability to the climate. The bandwidth is the main technical parameters of the belt conveyor.

     The second is the idlers, which can be divided into flute idler, flat idler, aligning idler and cushion idler. The aligning idler is used to adjust the horizontal position of the belt to avoid deviation; the flute idler composed of three rollers is to support the bearing branches to transport granular materials; the cushion idler set at the receiving point is to reduce the impact of materials to the belt.

     The third is the cylinders, which can be classified into drive cylinder and bend cylinder. The drive cylinder is the main part of transmission power and has single cylinder, double cylinders and multi-cylinder.

     The last one is the tensioning device. It is to make the belt achieve necessary tension to prevent slipping on the drive cylinder and ensure that the deflection of the belt between the cylinders in within the specified range.
