About the Iron Ore

We process all major iron-bearing minerals.
Hematite (Fe₂O₃): High-grade (55-68% Fe)
Typically requires simple beneficiation, primary source of direct shipping ore (DSO).
Magnetite (Fe₃O₄): Lower initial grade (25-40% Fe)
Magnetic properties enable efficient concentration, produces premium pellet feed concentrates.
Goethite/Limonite: Hydrated oxides (35-55% Fe)
Often requires washing & dewatering, common in lateritic deposits.
Siderite (FeCO₃): Theoretical iron content 48.2%
Non-magnetic, easily oxidized, mostly carbonate and clay minerals, often associated with manganese, magnesium.

Processing Technology

  • Magnetite Processing

    • After the raw ore is crushed and ground to a suitable particle size, it is fed into a magnetic separator. Magnetic magnetite particles are adsorbed and separated, while gangue is removed, directly yielding iron concentrate with an iron content of 55%–65%
  • Hematite Processing

    • Ordinary hematite requires initial magnetization roasting to reduce Fe₂O₃ to strongly magnetic Fe₃O₄ before magnetic separation.
    • Gravity separation (such as jigging or spiral chute), flotation, or combined beneficiation processes can also be used, with the specific method adjusted based on the gangue properties.
  • Limonite Processing

    • First, desliming is performed because grinding the ore easily produces a large amount of slime, which affects subsequent beneficiation.
    • Then, gravity separation or magnetic roasting-magnetic separation is used; if the impurity content is high, flotation is required to remove sulfur and phosphorus.
  • Siderite Processing

    • Single siderite can be processed using a roasting-magnetic separation method. During roasting, FeCO3 decomposes into Fe2O3, which is then converted to Fe3O4 by magnetization roasting before magnetic separation.
    • If it occurs in association with other iron ores, a combined gravity-flotation process is required to separate the different minerals before processing them separately.
